Bridal Processional

The procession is typically 60–90 seconds down the aisle. If there is a section of music during which the bride wishes to process, please identify the time frame so the organist can time the music accordingly.

Custom music requests are subject to Director of Music approval based on musical quality, liturgical fittingness, and the capability of the choir to prepare the selection. In cases where music requires exceptional preparation, the Director will contact you to discuss.

Choral Motets

The Nuptial Mass is a privileged 2nd Class Votive Mass. If your wedding date falls on a 1st Class feast, the propers of that feast will be chanted. The Director of Music will coordinate directly with the celebrant.

Because wedding congregations are typically smaller than Sunday Mass, communion lines are shorter — there is only room for 1–2 choral motet selections during Communion.

The complete list of choral motets is being compiled and will be added here. For now, please indicate your preference below or ask the Director to select.

⚠️ Reminder (Director): Link to the ICKSP Gaudeamus album for audio examples of the seasonal Marian antiphons. Each antiphon below has a Simple and Solemn tone available.

For the seasonal antiphons, two settings are available: Simple (shorter, easier for the congregation) and Solemn (more elaborate, sung by the schola). Please select your preference.

Nuptial Music Agreement

Please review your agreement below. Both the couple and the Director of Music must sign. Payment to the Detroit Sacred Music Foundation must be received before signatures can be applied.

Payment Required Before Signing

Payment is made to the Detroit Sacred Music Foundation

Amount includes your selected package plus any additional fees (e.g. solo vocalist: +$300). The Foundation will arrange payment to the musicians and retain a portion to fund choir loft improvements and special events. Once payment is confirmed by the Director of Music, both parties will sign.

Digital Payment

Online payment via credit/debit card or ACH bank transfer will be available once the site is fully deployed. The Director of Music will provide a secure payment link at that time. A note confirming payment receipt will be added to your agreement before signatures are applied.
